Unique Amber Coming Soon

Amber is fossilized tree resin , which has been appreciated for its color and natural beauty since Neolithic times. Because it originates as a soft, sticky tree resin, amber sometimes includes animal and plant materials called inclusions. Amber occurs in a range of different colors. From the usual yellow-orange-brown that is associated with the color “amber”, amber itself can range from a whitish color through a pale lemon yellow, to brown and almost black. Other more uncommon colors include red amber — also know as “cherry amber”, green amber, and even blue amber, which is rare and highly sought after.

Trollbeads has 4 types of Ambers that is included in their production line – Maple Syrup, Alabaster, Honey Dew and Caramel Sunset (pictured above).

They also have limited edition unique Amber kits that will be making their way to our store soon and ready to go home with you.

Trollbeads has released many many many beads since 1976. Some of the beads have been around for several decades and others have retired, others were a great idea at the time but just didn’t sell.

However, Trollbeads has for the first time ever gathered up all these interesting old, unique beads full of character and has cataloged all the information about them. Introducing the Trollbeads Museum, here you’ll find all the lovely “retired beads dating back to 1976 when the very first silver bead with a hole through the middle was strung onto a leather bracelet in a small jewelry store in Denmark. Each bead in the museum includes — several pictures, a description of the bead and the designer.

And, as a special event, you can vote for your Museum favorites and we’ll re-introduce the most popular bead back into the collection! You have until May 31, 2010 to cast your vote.

The 10th Annual Book and Author Dinner benefiting the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County is being held on Sunday, February 21,2010. This exciting and educational event will be hosted at Marriott Sugar Land Town Square.

The Enchantment of Reading will highlight literacy and a love of reading and writing by giving literacy supporters a chance to meet and dine with several prominent Texas authors including – Jan Bethancourt and Louise Parsley.
